Tarsem’s “Immortals” Finally Gets a Trailer

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my proud honor to present to you the long awaited trailer for Tarsem‘s newest masterpiece, Immortals.

Tarsem has long been one of my most cherished filmmakers.  Despite Yennifer Lopez, I recognized his clear talent in his debut film The Cell.  I thought his 2006 film The Fall was a modern masterpiece of cinema.  Clearly, I’m not alone as both David Fincher and Spike Jonze attached their names to it in order to ensure it saw a release.  He seems to spend such a long time fine tuning each film that he only gets one out every five years or so.  His films are visually stylish, his stories are well executed and the man knows how to redefine “badass” on screen.  Unlike his easily comparable counterpart Zack Snyder however, Tarsem’s films tend to be much more cerebral, with real emotional and intellectual depth peeking out from behind the stylistic visuals.  I see him as a true cinematic visionary and if The Fall is any indication, we have a lot to look forward to from Immortals.
