||Action Corner|| Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Welcome back to ACTION CORNER!!!  This time around, I will be tackling a trailer for a film about giants robots that is based off a line of action figures from the 80s and is directed by a guy that has blown up just about anything in existence.  Transformers: Dark of the Moon stars Shia LaBeouf returning as Sam Witwicky, the main human character in the series.  Josh Duhamel returns as Lt. Colonel William Lennox and Tyrese Gibson returns as Chief Robert Epps.  Also returning is John Turturro as Seymour Simmons, the former agent of Sector 7.  Some new players come in this time and they include Victoria Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Academy Award Nominee John Malkovich, Academy Award Winner Frances McDormand, and the AMAZING Alan Tudyk.  All of the voice actors for the robots return for this installment.  This film is the third in a series that started in 2007 with Transformers was followed by an AWFUL sequel in 2009, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.  This new film is being produced by Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, and di Bonaventura Pictures, and is being distributed by Paramount Pictures.

I’m going to be honest here, I really don’t care about this movie.  After the first movie was a disappoint and the second was an INCREDIBLE TRAIN WRECK, I really have no faith left in this series.  Plus, it’s kept Michael Bay occupied for the last 4 years, and he’s been unable to make the one film he wants to do, Bad Boys III.  Yeah, the trailer looks impressive, but let us all remember that the trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was an incredible trailer that got he really excited to see the film, but instead I was treated to one of the worst movies I’ve ever had the mispleasure of seeing.  Honestly, would I like this movie to be good or at least enjoyable and fun……HELL YES!!!  But I really don’t think that is going to happen.  I hope I am proven wrong.  Not taking anything away from the trailer for this movie, which does look really impressive (I especially like the scene where Optimus Prime is tearing through the streets because it is all one shot), but like I mentioned before……trailers can LIE!!!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits theaters on June 29, 2011 in 2D, Real D Digital 3D, and IMAX 3D.
