||Action Corner|| Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance / Machine Gun Preacher / Red Tails

Welcome back to ACTION CORNER!!!  this time around, I will be tackling a sequel based on a Marvel Comics character, a movie about a biker preacher-defender of Sudanese orphans, and movie about the Tuskegee Airmen.  LET’S DO THIS!!!

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a 2012 super hero action film based on the Marvel Comics supernatural antihero Ghost Rider and is a sequel to the 2007 film Ghost Rider.

The film stars Academy Award Winner Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, Johnny Whitworth as Roarke Carrigan/Blackout, Violante Placido as Nadya, Idris Elba as Moreau, with Christopher Lambert as a monk, and Ciarán Hinds as The Devil.

The screenplay is being written by Scott M. Gimple and Seth Hoffman, based on a story by David S. Goyer.

The film is being directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is being produced by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Knights, Hyde Park Entertainment, and Imagenation Abu Dhabi, and is being distributed by Columbia Pictures.

I may be the only one that thinks this, but FUCK YEAH!!!  It just doesn’t get any better than that now does it???  For people that had doubts about making another Ghost Rider film, I hope those fears were put to rest with this trailer.  Everything I’ve seen from the stills to the teaser poster to the trailer just makes me super gitty.  Words cannot really express my excitement for this movie.  As one of the VERY FEW people that will try to defend the first film, and even I cannot do that for long, but I don’t feel like I will have to do that with this one.  The only part of the trailer that I’ve seen people have a hard time with is the very end, and personally, I don’t see a problem with it.  Coming from the guys that directed Crank and Gamer, it’s not a surprise to me that they would put something like that in.  I think it’s their way of saying, “We get it.  Don’t worry though, you’re gonna have fun with this one.”  And Nick Cage looks great as the title character once again.  Even better for the film, this time around Cage did all of the motion capture work for Ghost Rider, unlike the first film where it was a complete CGI character.  That means he was actually there performing as Ghost Rider.  And with the film being shot in 3D???  OH MY GOD!!!  This film may rival Battleship as the greatest film of 2012.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance hits theaters on February 17, 2012 in 2D and Real D Digital 3D!!!

Machine Gun Preacher is a 2011 action biopic about Sam Childers, a biker-preacher-defender of Sudanese orphans.

The film stars Gerard Butler as Sam Childers, Michelle Monaghan as Lynn Childers, Academy Award Nominee Michael Shannon, and Madeline Carroll as Sara.

The music is being written and composed by Asche & Spencer.

The film is being written by Jason Keller.

The film is being directed by Marc Forster.

Machine Gun Preacher is being produced by Virgin Produced, Safady Entertainment, Apparatus Productions, GG Filmz, 1984 Private Defense Contractors, Mpower Pictures, ITS Capital, and Merlina Entertainment, and is being distributed by Relativity Media.

This looks interesting.  I don’t know if this is the movie that is being advertised, especially with the title of the film.  I am curious to see this though.  I do enjoy Gerard Butler in action films, but he seems to do one and then some bullshit Katherine Heigl movie.  I really don’t have too much to say about the movie other than it looks interesting and I want to see it, I just don’t think I will get the chance to.

Machine Gun Preacher gets a limited release on September 23, 2011 in 2D!!!

Red Tails is a 2012 action war drama film based on the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American combat pilots during World War II.

Bullard.

The music is being written and composed by Terence Blanchard.

The screenplay is being written by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder based on a story by John Ridley and George Lucas.

The film is being directed by Anthony Hemingway.

Red Tails is being produced by Lucasfilm Ltd and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

RED TAILS (trailer #2)

Well, I had almost forgotten that Lucasfilm did things that have nothing to do with Star Wars and Indiana Jones.  Tuskegee Airmen too……good for them.  This film was actually made about 2 or 3 years ago, and Lucas made a statement that the movie has taken so long to be released is because the special effects are some of the best that Industrial Light & Magic have ever done.  From what I’ve seen in the trailer, that statement is not true.  The effects are impressive, but nothing out of the ordinary.  What I really like seeing is the cast.  Cuba Gooding Jr. has been stuck in Straight-to-DVD land for the past few years, so it’s nice to see him return to the big screen.  Terrence Howard is an impressive man on screen and is always a pleasure to watch.  I’m really curious to see how the younger actors interact with each other and whether or not it will be accurate to what actually happened to the Tuskegee Airmen.

Red Tails his theaters on January 20, 2012 in 2D!!!
